  • I independently found a workaround: you can pay for the assembly service by registering a bank card in Masterpass in advance, and at the payment stage on the ikea.com.tr website, selecting the option to pay with the bank card registered (saved) in Masterpass without entering the card details manually.
  • This is the only workaround I have found that works.
  • Turkish Masterpass only allows you to register bank cards from Turkish banks.
  • Note that entering the card details of Turkish banks directly when paying for the assembly service will not work: the card must be pre-registered in Masterpass and selected from Masterpass.
  • Such technical problems are quite typical for Turkish IT in general.
    After all, salaries in Turkey are low, and good programmers will not work for Turkish companies but prefer to work for foreign ones.
    Therefore, almost all Turkish IT services are of very low quality, and problems like the one described in this article are very common.
  • Please also note that Ikea Turkey support has not tried to resolve this issue or many others I have contacted them about.
    They have not even responded to the emails I quoted above.
  • Legally, Ikea Turkey is actually the company «Mapa Mobilya ve Aksesuar Pazarlama A.Ş.».
    They simply bought a franchise from the parent company Ikea («Inter IKEA Systems B.V.»).
    The quality of service provided by the Turkish franchisee is generally very poor.
