Hello,

What is the risk-based control system in foreign trade (TAREKS)?

TAREKS is a web-based software system that enables risk-based inspections for imports and exports, aiming to protect our consumers and producers in terms of safety, quality, and compliance with standards.

What is the purpose of TAREKS?

The purpose of TAREKS is to ensure that inspections conducted during export and import stages are aligned with economic and trade conditions, utilizing the latest technological advancements and adopting a modern approach.
This allows for more timely, effective, and efficient use of public and economic resources.

What does TAREKS change?

TAREKS changes the traditional approach where each batch is physically inspected during export and import stages.
Under the new system, products that pose risks will be identified electronically by TAREKS based on criteria set by relevant public institutions, and physical inspections will focus on these products.

Which products are covered?

TAREKS is expected to initially cover industrial products subject to safety inspections on import, such as personal protective equipment, toys, textiles, construction materials, medical devices, radio and telecommunication terminal equipment, batteries, and accumulators, as well as agricultural products subject to quality inspections during export and import.
Product groups to be covered by TAREKS will be determined in stages through regulatory updates via Foreign Trade Standardization Communiqués by the Ministry of Economy.
These regulations will be published in the Official Gazette and promptly communicated to all relevant civil society organizations, such as chambers of commerce and industry.

Documents required for TAREKS are attached;
