The correct strategy to resolve a problem with linked seller accounts across Amazon marketplaces

The client's problem

Amazon Seller Account Reactivation / Linked Account Issue (Amazon.com & Amazon.it)
I am looking for an experienced Amazon Seller Central expert to help resolve my seller account issue.
My main goal is to permanently close my Amazon.com Seller account and successfully open a new seller account on Amazon.it.

My situation is the following

I requested the closure of my Amazon.com Seller account on July 15, 2025.
I received an email confirming that my account closure request was received, but the account has not been fully closed.
I can still access Seller Central, and several marketplaces (UK, Australia, Japan, Singapore, and Egypt) show "Pending Registration."
When I try to register a seller account on Amazon.it, Amazon rejects my application because it detects my existing Amazon.com seller account.
I have contacted Amazon support several times but have not been able to resolve the issue.

My guidance

The correct soluton:

1

Reactivate the Amazon.com account (cancel the closure request).

2

Restore the Amazon.com account to good standing: audit it to identify and resolve any underlying issues.

3

Have Amazon Seller Support cancel the pending registrations for the 5 marketplaces you listed.

4

Appeal the rejection (deactivation) of the Amazon.it account.
In the appeal, it is necessary to admit the mistake of creating an unauthorized duplicate account and ask Amazon to reactivate the Amazon.it account for the purpose of merging the accounts (§5).

5

Merge the Amazon.it account with the Amazon.com account.

6

Set the Amazon.com listings to «Inactive» in the «Listing status for vacations, holidays, and other absences» section.
