How did I fix the «Manifests not equal because different volume numbers» error for Duplicity / Backupninja?

Error: Local and Remote metadata are synchronized, no sync needed.
Error: Last full backup date: Mon May 21 23:08:27 2018
Error: Manifests not equal because different volume numbers
Error: Fatal Error: Remote manifest does not match local one. Either the remote backup set or the local archive directory has been corrupted.

I have fixed it my removing the local Duplicity folder (--archive-dir) and then running a backp manually:

backupninja --now --debug
